Cross-site data synchronization connects distributed devices and systems in david IoT

David IoT connects distributed systems, devices and equipment, making their data flows centrally traceable.

Under the name "Linked Devices and Systems" (LDS), david IoT bundles functions for connecting, monitoring, and synchronizing industrial IoT systems.
embedded data GmbH is presenting the LDS functionality of its david IoT platform for the first time in a comprehensive manner. LDS connects distributed plants, devices, and systems and synchronizes their measured values and states between the device and the cloud. Operators can centrally track data flows, connection states, and synchronization backlogs, and assess which systems are up-to-date and where data needs to be updated.

Comprehensive configuration options are available for synchronization: Operators define the period after an interruption for subsequent synchronization, limit large synchronization packets to prevent overloading receiving systems, and define how to handle very large backlogs. If the current plant status is particularly relevant, david IoT can transmit only the most recent value; seamless synchronization remains available for applications with a complete history. After interruptions, david IoT automatically re-establishes connections as soon as the remote device is available – without requiring a system restart.

Refined retention policies support the long-term management of aggregated data, which remains traceable in journal and history views. "Operators of distributed IoT systems need not only data, but also traceable data flows", says Jakob Bysewski, Managing Director of embedded data GmbH. "With LDS, david IoT makes it visible how plants and systems are connected, which data is tracked, and how operations can be resumed stably after interruptions."

david IoT has been developed since 2017 for industrial applications where data sovereignty, long-term operation, and integration of existing systems are crucial. The platform runs on Linux systems in the data center, in a private cloud, or directly on-site.
