Optris Connect: A New Generation of Infrared Imaging Software
Optris introduces Optris Connect, a new software platform for PI and Xi infrared cameras. The software combines a modern, intuitive user interface with powerful tools for visualizing, configuring, and monitoring thermal imaging data. It is designed to make infrared thermography easier for new users while providing experienced users with a flexible and future-ready working environment. A key feature is the unified workspace: thermal images, temperature-time diagrams, alarms, measurement fields, and camera data are displayed in a single window. Multiple USB and Ethernet cameras can be automatically detected, connected simultaneously, and shown side by side. Temperature data from several devices can be evaluated together or separately. Guided network configuration supports fast setup and helps users resolve common connection issues. Optris Connect also simplifies the configuration of measurement fields, emissivity settings, alarms, and PIF modules. Additional features include familiar color palettes, autofocus support, watermark and logo options, protection against accidental software closure, and flexible alarm management. With integrated error reporting, direct software updates, and the option to improve translations through feedback from users and distributors, the platform is designed for continuous development. As part of the Optris AI software family, Optris Connect also supports MCP server integration for modern AI-based workflows. Some advanced analysis functions currently remain available exclusively in PIX Connect 3. Users who require these features can continue using PIX Connect 3, while Optris Connect already provides a modern, fast, and future-ready workflow for the next generation of infrared thermography.

New CTi LT
Optris introduces the CTi LT pyrometer, an advanced successor to the trusted CT LT series, designed for enhanced flexibility, integration, and durability in industrial applications. Key features include a modular design with exchangeable sensing heads, ensuring easy installation, maintenance, and replacement without compromising accuracy. The new CompactPlusConnect software offers a modern interface for efficient setup, configuration, and monitoring. A standard USB interface streamlines configuration across industrial settings. The CTi LT maintains a 22:1 optical resolution and operates in ambient temperatures up to 180°C without additional cooling. It’s ideal for measuring high-emissivity materials with a thermopile detector and an 8–14 µm spectral range. With a higher sampling frequency, the pyrometer provides fast, precise temperature tracking. It also offers multiple outputs—4–20 mA, 0–10 V, USB, RS485, ModbusTCP, EthernetTCP, Profibus DP, ProfiNet, and Ethernet/IP—ensuring seamless integration into existing control systems for real-time monitoring and reliability.

New interfaces expand Optris CTi pyrometer series
Optris is expanding its CTi pyrometer series with the digital interfaces EtherCAT and IO-Link, making the compact, modular infrared pyrometers easier to integrate into modern automation environments and Industry 4.0 applications. With EtherCAT, users benefit from extremely short response times, high synchronization accuracy, fast data transfer, and short cycle times. This is particularly useful in high-speed processes such as metal processing or automated production lines, where precise real-time temperature control is required. EtherCAT also reduces CPU load in the control system and supports flexible topologies, allowing CTi pyrometers to be integrated into existing machine concepts without additional infrastructure. Automatic addressing, strong interference immunity, and fast fault detection simplify commissioning and maintenance. IO-Link adds a user-friendly field-level interface to the CTi platform. Standardized 3-wire cables reduce wiring effort, while automatic parameterization in the master enables quick sensor replacement without downtime. Extended diagnostic functions, continuous condition monitoring, digital data transmission, and remote parameter adjustment improve measurement reliability and make the interface ideal for hard-to-access or safety-critical areas. By adding EtherCAT and IO-Link, Optris increases the flexibility of the CTi platform and combines precise non-contact temperature measurement with intelligent communication and fast data processing. The CTi pyrometers retain their proven strengths, including robust design, separate electronics box with display, and flexible interface options, while opening up new possibilities for networked production environments.
