High-efficiency BLDC Motors
in Englisch übersetzen The brushless DC motors from Groschopp, also known as BLDC motors, combine the characteristics of a DC drive with the advantages of maintenance-free three-phase synchronous motors. With this technology, the rotor is equipped with permanent magnets, while the stator consists of coils. An integrated electronic system precisely controls these coils, creating a continuously rotating magnetic field that drives the motor efficiently. In contrast to classic DC motors, this design concept completely eliminates mechanical carbon brushes. As a result, typical brush sparking is non-existent, meaning that neither disruptive sparks nor fine brush dust are generated. This feature makes the Groschopp drives ideal for use in highly sensitive environments such as cleanrooms, the textile industry, or optical applications. Another significant advantage is the extreme durability of the systems, which easily achieve 10,000 operating hours or more. Since there are no wear parts other than the mechanical bearings, maintenance efforts during continuous operation are reduced to a minimum. Furthermore, the BLDC motors impress with excellent energy efficiency, as they generate significantly less heat compared to conventional brushed motors while simultaneously achieving higher operating speeds. In terms of technical performance, the Groschopp portfolio covers a power range of up to 650 Watts at nominal speed ranges of up to 3000 revolutions per minute. The supply voltage ranges flexibly between 24 Volts and 48 Volts, while the compact motors deliver a torque of up to 2.1 Newton meters. For flexible application in modern mechanical and plant engineering, these brushless drives can also be combined directly with the manufacturer's matching gearboxes to create customized gear motors.

Gearmotors: Power and Precision
Groschopp offers compact, customizable gearmotors that merge an electric motor and a gearbox into a highly efficient unit. They reliably convert high speeds into the required torque. Following the modular "Drives & More" principle, the drives are tailored exactly to specific industrial requirements. They offer the highest manufacturing quality, longevity, and enormous flexibility in design and performance. The overall performance spectrum is impressive: it reaches up to 500 Nm of torque, reduction ratios of up to 1:1500, and efficiencies of up to 94 percent. The portfolio includes various types of gearboxes for every purpose. The robust helical gearboxes of the SG series operate very efficiently thanks to parallel axes, achieving efficiencies of up to 87 percent at a maximum of 15 Nm. For quiet, flexible operation, the single-stage worm gearboxes of the Vario series with up to 50.5 Nm are ideal; they are also available as a stainless steel version in a Hygienic Design for sensitive environments. When extremely high ratios of up to 1500:1 are required in the smallest of spaces, the low-noise two-stage worm gearboxes of the Z series are used. A particularly clever solution is offered by the Z-Kombi gearboxes, which combine a worm gear stage with a helical gear stage. This creates the perfect compromise between a high reduction ratio and strong efficiency. Finally, the planetary gearboxes of the PLZ series are ready for the highest mechanical loads. These powerhouses deliver impressive torques of up to 500 Nm with peak efficiencies of up to 94 percent. Thanks to their modularity, the drives are used across various industries, for example in the food industry, medical technology, packaging systems, e-mobility, or modern warehousing systems. True to the guiding principle of "Sustainability through Quality," Groschopp develops perfectly tailored drive solutions that guarantee long-term reliability and fail-safety even under harsh industrial conditions.

Sila-Coat and stainless steel for motors and worm gearboxes
For demanding sectors such as the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, Groschopp offers customized motors and worm gearboxes specifically engineered for hygiene-critical environments. The focus is on two housing options and their flexible combination, designed to withstand strict cleaning requirements and aggressive environmental influences. The innovative Sila-Coat coating serves as a highly cost-effective solution. In this process, the drive components are sealed using a specialized electrophoretic dip coating. The result is an extremely smooth, non-stick surface that offers significantly higher corrosion and alkali resistance than traditional hard anodizing. Because sticky residues struggle to adhere to it, cleaning time and detergent consumption in production are drastically reduced. For areas subject to extreme mechanical stress—where cracks or flaking must be avoided at all costs—robust housings made of pure stainless steel are available. These are completely resistant to intensive high-pressure washdowns and aggressive chemicals. Despite their enclosed design, the drives achieve outstanding performance figures thanks to optimized cooling concepts. For instance, a convection-cooled stainless steel induction motor reaches an output power of 120 Watts, while the water-cooled variant delivers up to 470 Watts. For dynamic servomotors, water cooling even allows for a peak performance of up to 2,600 Watts at a speed of 6,000 rpm. A key advantage of the system lies in its modular flexibility. Since not every part of a production line is exposed to the same mechanical stresses, the components can be freely combined using a modular system. This allows a stainless steel motor to be easily paired with a Sila-Coat-coated gearbox, ensuring a perfect balance of maximum hygiene, robustness, and cost-efficiency.

Innovative 3D printing for production parts
Groschopp AG makes intensive use of additive manufacturing at its Viersen site for the development and production of its drive components. While 3D printing was previously reserved primarily for prototype construction, the technology has long since established itself among the drive experts as an economically viable pillar in manufacturing. In addition to prototypes and assembly fixtures, the company also uses it to produce fully functional series components for its motors and gearboxes. Groschopp has been gathering experience in this field since as early as 2012, initially relying on FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printers to process the robust plastic ABS. Today, a modern MSLA (Masked Stereolithography Apparatus) printer is also used. This resin 3D printing process utilizes an LCD mask and UV light to cure liquid resin layer by layer. This allows components such as brush holders to be realized with high-precision and varied material properties. According to the engineering management, the strategic advantage lies primarily in rapid availability and increased flexibility in product design. Complex geometries can be implemented in a material-saving manner, and by combining several components into a single printed part, downstream assembly costs are reduced. Since the creation of expensive specialized tooling is eliminated, 3D printing offers Groschopp a highly efficient and cost-effective alternative to accelerate development projects and to serve customer inquiries in the small-series segment extremely quickly.

DC Flush-Mount Motors (KE Series)
Groschopp AG Drives & More, with over 75 years of experience in drive technology, offers the KE series—a highly developed and robust built-in DC motor solution designed for demanding industrial applications. These premium commutator motors are characterized by their exceptional durability, repairability, and the unique ability to withstand massive short-term overloads. These features make them the ideal choice for direct integration into mechanically high-stress systems, such as power earthing switches or strapping tensioning devices. The portfolio includes various motor types to precisely match the physical requirements of any application. For systems demanding high starting torques or high speeds—such as medium-voltage switches or mixers—series-wound motors with series-connected armature and field windings are available. If, on the other hand, precise and simple speed control under varying loads is required, the speed-stable shunt-wound motors provide the optimum solution for belt drives or medical technology. For conveyor technology, where a high starting torque is prioritized over absolute speed consistency, compound-wound motors combine the advantages of both winding types. The spectrum is complemented by magnetically excited permanent magnet DC motors (PMDC). Thanks to the use of magnets, they operate with exceptional energy efficiency and stability under load, making them ideal for overload-protected, mobile, or medical applications. Groschopp systematically relies on evolution rather than revolution for the ongoing development of its proven motor technology. Guided by customer requirements, these built-in motors are continuously optimized to meet increasing demands for maximum efficiency, enhanced controllability, and uncompromising reliability.

Permanently excited DC motors in new sizes
The demands on modern drive technology are increasing rapidly. Systems are becoming more compact, while the requirements for efficiency are growing. To meet these challenges precisely, the portfolio of permanently excited direct current (PMDC) motors has been expanded to include new, more finely graduated sizes. Because these drives rely on powerful permanent magnets instead of space-consuming excitation windings, they are inherently extremely compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient. Scalable performance for any installation space With the new dimensions, design engineers gain the necessary flexibility for demanding designs. The expanded sizes close gaps in the existing product range and deliver the optimal ratio of physical volume to torque for every project. Inefficient oversizing of motors is therefore a thing of the past. At the same time, the permanent magnets ensure outstanding dynamics, an enormously high starting torque, and lightning-fast reactions to speed changes. Maximum efficiency and simple integration Because excitation losses are physically eliminated in PMDC motors, they operate exceptionally efficiently. The reduced waste heat lowers the thermal load, significantly extends the service life, and makes complex cooling measures obsolete in many cases. Thanks to the well-thought-out design and standardized interfaces, the new models integrate seamlessly into existing machines or completely new systems—even when installation space is severely limited. Versatile application possibilities Whether in automated guided vehicles in intralogistics, in high-precision medical technology, or in industrial automation: the new PMDC sizes showcase their strengths wherever maximum performance in minimum space is required. They combine compactness, cost-effectiveness, and uncompromising reliability for future-proof machine concepts.

Stainless steel motors for the harshest conditions

They are characterized by exceptional robustness and durability, and are designed to operate continuously and trouble-free under the harshest operating conditions. These drives truly showcase their strengths in industries with strict hygiene regulations. They are optimally suited for use in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, where they effortlessly withstand intensive cleaning processes and aggressive media. The high-quality stainless steel housings are completely corrosion-resistant and, thanks to their smooth surfaces, can be cleaned without leaving any residue. This guarantees maximum hygiene and significantly extends the service life of the drive technology. Another technological advantage is their extremely space-saving design. This compactness allows for seamless machine integration, even in highly confined installation spaces. Nevertheless, the drives deliver uncompromising performance. Because stainless steel naturally has a lower physical capacity to dissipate motor heat outward, innovative cooling concepts provide the necessary compensation. This ensures a consistently high power output. The versatile product range includes series such as ESK 48, ESK 65, ESKH80-80NR, and ESKH65-60NA, some of which can be flexibly combined with gearboxes like the PLZ64. The robust ISK series complements the portfolio. The technical specifications underscore their impressive power: the motors achieve outputs of up to 740 watts and speeds of up to 6,000 revolutions per minute. With operating voltages ranging from 230 to 560 volts and torques of up to 9 Newton meters, they master the most demanding tasks with ease. For anyone looking for stainless steel motors that combine cleanliness with extreme compactness and performance, this is the ideal solution.
