The embedded device series eNetVario is small, efficient and designed for industrial use. The metal housing is extremely robust and can be used both as a desktop housing and for top-hat rail mounting in accordance with EN 60 715.
We use Debian Linux as the operating system, which has been adapted to the hardware-specific device features (BSP).
M2M communication takes place via sockets or the network interfaces using TCP/IP and MQTT, alternatively also via a JSON REST API. The Mosquitto MQTT broker and the Node-RED programming environment are pre-installed and ready for immediate use. You can find detailed information on this in our online documentation.
The core components of the device are the embedded module eNetMaxi with the carrier card MKC1502. This is available in a different assembly variant as a reference design (eNetEval.1502) for your own developments.
The eNetVario has two Ethernet ports (10/100Mbit), several serial and USB interfaces. In addition, up to 6 process I/O boards can be integrated into the device. This flexible design of analog and digital I/O in conjunction with intelligent pre-processing means that inexpensive devices for a maximum of 24 sensors/actuators can be supplied for many areas of application.
Power is supplied directly via the network cable in accordance with the IEEE802.3af standard (Power over Ethernet, PoE). A conventional power supply is not necessary, but can be used as an alternative.
