Molex Introduces MiniMix Hybrid Power and Signal Connectors to Accelerate Humanoid Robotics Mass-Production Scaling
Designed for space‑limited joints and actuators, MiniMix connectors integrate 15.0A power and 1Gbps 1000BASE‑T1 into a 5.65mm routing profile, enabling pre‑terminated cable runs for cleaner, faster robot assembly.
Molex unveiled MiniMix Hybrid Power and Signal Connectors, a compact interconnect platform for humanoid robotics, autonomous mobile robots and advanced industrial automation. MiniMix combines 15.0A power and 1Gbps 1000BASE-T1 Ethernet communication in one ultra-compact interface, helping reduce connector count, cabling complexity and assembly effort in space-constrained joints, actuators and robotic mechanisms.
As robotics systems move from prototype builds to mass production, engineers must route power and high-speed control data through tight actuator channels and multi-axis joints. Traditional separate power and signal connectors are often too bulky, slowing assembly and adding potential failure points.
MiniMix addresses these challenges with a 5.65mm routing profile, enabling pre-terminated cable assemblies to pass through narrow internal channels in robotic joints, limbs and end-effectors. Vertical and right-angle mating orientations support flexible layouts, while a robust, vibration-resistant design helps maintain reliable performance through repeated motion cycles.
Designed for applications where space, weight and reliability are critical, MiniMix can support plug-and-play assembly, lower harness weight and reduce connector-related complexity in production-ready robotic systems.
Samples and functional evaluation assemblies are available now, with full commercial production planned for late 2026.
MiniMix is part of the Molex robotics connectivity portfolio, which also includes Mirror Mezz, Quad-Row, High-Speed FAKRA-Mini, Mega-Fit and EXTreme Ten60 connectors to help OEMs connect AI processing, sensing and multi-axis mechanical motion.
