To meet Kaiser’s requirements, a comprehensive, web-based fibre optic configurator was developed to provide a user-friendly and flexible solution. The configurator allows users to customise fibre optic building distributors by guiding them through an intuitive user interface that supports both simple and complex configurations. Thanks to the 3D visualisation, users can visually check and adjust their configuration, making planning easier and reducing the likelihood of errors. A particular highlight of the solution is the automatic generation of project documentation in PDF format, which includes assembly drawings as well as detailed parts lists that can be used for ordering and planning.
The integration of CADENAS and the PIM system ensures that up-to-date article data is always available in the configurator. This enables Kaiser to plan customers’ projects with the latest components without having to maintain data manually. The configurator has also been designed so that it can be used by both internal Kaiser employees and external customers. Employees benefit from enhanced project management functions, while customers can plan and submit their projects to Kaiser independently thanks to easy access to the required configuration tools. Seamless integration into Kaiser’s existing IT infrastructures ensures smooth data synchronisation and process handling.
In addition to the core functionality, the fibre optic configurator also enables the management of projects via a central project overview, in which users can view, edit or duplicate their previous configurations. This makes the configurator not only a planning tool, but also a powerful administration and documentation tool. Thanks to the flexible export functions, such as exporting parts lists as CSV files, the configurator can also be integrated into other business applications, which increases efficiency throughout the entire value chain.
